This year, Listapad proudly announces the return of two competitions: the national competition and the national film schools competition. The national competition features 23 films created by talented Belarusian directors, while the national film schools competition will present 15 outstanding student works from leading film schools.
The main feature film competition will offer viewers 18 films from 24 countries. Among them is the drama by Indian director Payala Kapadia "All That Seems to Be Light", which was awarded the Grand Prix at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
12 works from 7 countries will be presented in the documentary film nomination. Animated masterpieces will also find their place at the festival: 50 films from 24 countries.
The "Cinema of the Young" competition, where 11 films from 17 countries will offer new views on the search for oneself and about family. In 2024, this direction reflects the unification of countries, revealing the potential of young talents.
For young viewers, the film festival will present films for children and youth audiences "Listapadzik", within the framework of which 8 films from 6 countries will be shown. During the competition, the premiere of the animated film "Sirin Bird. Wings of Slavic Legends", created by the national film studio "Belarusfilm", will take place.
The opening film of the XXX Minsk International Film Festival "Listapad" is the Belarusian-Russian film "Black Castle", based on the novel by Vladimir Karatkevich "Black Castle Olshansky".
